To finish our theme of food, we looked at different food idioms and tried to work out with they meant! We then picked a different idiom each and decorated a poster of each one. Do you know what they all you mean? All you have to do is lift to flap to check and see if you’re right!

The Great Famine
For this week’s theme of food, we have being learning about the Great Famine that happened in Ireland in the 1800s. We learnt lots of interesting facts, including the fact that the closest workhouse was in Mountbellew and is where Colaiste na Creagain is today. Here are the brainstorms we made in groups to summarise what we learnt.
